Colin MacLeod Celtic Fiddle Guru Presenting To Schoolchildren for Celtic Culture Music And Story

Homeschooling | School Of Celtic Fiddle Mastery

Learning a musical instrument, as part of a child's education, contributes to a well rounded education. There is a sense of achievement in playing the first note, a building of confidence playing the first tune, an excitement in making new friends at a summer camp or orchestra and the potential for adventure with musically inspired trips abroad.

As a child growing up in Scotland, learning the violin opened up possibilities to travel and play in different towns and cities around Scotland and in later life, farther afield.

The focus on connection, community building and development of life skills e.g. creativity, listening to understand have been aspects of learning a musical instrument which help to bring the modern world alive in wonderful ways.

For me, one of the skills of learning a musical instrument, which really stands out is that of learning to play by ear.

This skill can help to nurture a fun and playful approach to learning music.

Within the School Of Celtic Fiddle Mastery, this truly, is the goal at the heart of all my programs; playfully instilling self confidence in all my students.

It is at the heart of the Celtic music tradition for the playing of music to be a joyful community focused experience. For instance, the gathering of players at Celtic music sessions are a strong part of the Scottish tradition.

This is why I would like to explore the possibilities of the programs on offer in the "Celtic Fiddle Guru" Academy online.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.
